(KRON) — Authorities in the North Bay are investigating after a victim was found shot dead in Petaluma on Sunday. No suspects have been identified in the case, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.
Sonoma County deputies responded at 4:15 pm. to the 5100 block of Lakeville Highway, near Ernie’s Tin Bar, on the report of a deceased person with possible gunshot wounds. Arriving authorities found shell casings in the area and a victim who “appeared to have been shot,” the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office did not release any more information about the incident. The SCSO’s Violent Crimes unit took over the investigation.
