(KRON) – A digital card reader, multiple credit and gift cards and identifications were found in a traffic stop, said the Vacaville Police Department.
Vacaville PD said police officers recently stopped a vehicle due to the driver holding his phone in front of his face while driving, according to police. The driver, identified as Tyler Robert Howell, was driving on a suspended license. The passenger, Jeffrey McKinney, also did not have a valid license.
Vacaville PD said officers found narcotics, drug paraphernalia and evidence indicating the narcotics were intended for sale. Officers also said they found “multiple financial access cards in Howell’s name, as well as others, with handwritten banking information.” Additionally, officers found a digital card reader/writer, a device that can be used to manipulate financial account data, along with access cards, some of which were blank.
Police later discovered that Howell, 26, was on bail after being arrested a week prior in Vallejo for multiple felony narcotics charges.
According to police, McKinney, 48, gave police false information regarding his identity. Officers discovered he was on Post Release Community Supervision with two active felony PRCS violation warrants after his true identity was revealed.
The Vacaville residents were arrested and booked into the Solano County Jail on multiple misdemeanor and felony charges.
