(KRON) – The Vacaville Police Department arrested a man who gave his relative’s identification to officers in an arrest, the department announced on its social media.
Two Vacaville residents approached police officers patrolling the Nut Tree Plaza on the afternoon of Wednesday, Dec. 4. The residents informed officers that a man was stealing items in an Ulta store by stuffing his pockets with merchandise. The two also gave police a description of the suspected thief.
Officers responded to the Ulta and noticed the suspect leaving the store. Vacaville PD said a store employee informed officers that the suspect tried to steal items, but employees retrieved the merchandise from the suspect.
Police searched the suspect, later identified as 32-year-old Jesse Carl Robinson, and found narcotics and drug paraphernalia in his pockets. He was subsequently arrested. Initially, police said, Robinson said he did not have any identification on him and gave the officers a false identification. It was later discovered that Robinson gave a family member’s name to officers, according to Vacaville PD.
Police were able to identify Robinson by his fingerprints, which also uncovered his three outstanding warrants.
Robinson had two misdemeanors related to theft and another was a felony warrant for burglary and grand theft that totaled more than $60,000 in bail, according to Vacaville PD.
Robinson was booked into the Solano County Jail for multiple charges, including his three warrants and a felony charge of false impersonation.
