Erewhon, the high-end supermarket chain known for celebrity smoothie collaborations, will soon open a location in West Hollywood.
Erewhon is set to take over the former Sprouts Farmers Market space at 8550 Santa Monica Blvd. A “coming soon” sign can be seen outside the building, as first reported by WEHO Times.
Michio and Aveline Kushi, the founders of Erewhon, opened their first location in Boston in April 1966 after noticing that the food industry abandoned its commitment to nutritional value throughout the 1900s.
Soon after, the company moved to Los Angeles and “became a rare provider of natural foods, sourcing organic products that were difficult to come by,” according to the company’s “about” page.
Erewhon has since opened locations in Venice, Pasadena, Culver City and more.
The company also plans to open a new location in Manhattan Beach. The opening date for the West Hollywood location hasn’t been announced.
