The Fullerton Downtown Plaza is roaring this weekend.
That is to say, it’s hosting the Roar Cultural Festival, a multi-day celebration of Korean traditional music and arts hosted by Daroo, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting traditional Korean culture.

The Roar Festival kicked off with traditional pansori storytelling and samulnori percussion performances. It continued with K-pop and jazz music and arts and fashion displays. On Saturday, the festival hosted a traditional arts and music competition with entrants of all ages from across the U.S.
This is the second year Fullerton has hosted the event following eight years in Los Angeles. The Roar Festival continues until 8 p.m. Sunday with various performances, crafts for children and families and food vendors.
