Incumbent Councilmember Jessie Lopez took back her slim lead ahead of resident Jeffrey Katz for the Santa Ana City Council Ward 3 seat, latest results showed Monday night.
Lopez is now ahead of Katz by 122 votes. Two other incumbents, Thai Viet Phan and Johnathan Hernandez, have maintained significant leads ahead of their challengers in the races for Wards 1 and 5.

In the race for the Ward 1 seat, Phan faced local business owner Julie Tran and had about 52% of the vote as of Monday. In Ward 5, Hernandez had more than 55% of the vote as of Monday against local business owner Mario Alvarado.
Mayor Valerie Amezcua also continued to maintain a large lead, at 60% of the vote, ahead of her challenger, City Councilmember Benjamin Vazquez.
The Registrar of Voters said results will be updated daily at 5 p.m., except weekends, until the counting is complete.
