(KRON) — Spring Training is underway, and baseball is back in the spotlight. The San Francisco Giants are in Scottsdale, Ariz. to get ready for the 2025 MLB season, including one of its team’s biggest free agency signings in recent years. Off of a 2024 rookie season that was cut short due to injury, outfielder Jung Hoo Lee is healthy and back in uniform for his second year with the Giants.
Lee, a baseball star in his native South Korea, is in his second year living in the United States and is enjoying the perks that come with living in California. The 26-year-old was asked by KNBR this week to name one thing he wishes his home country had. He replied with one simple answer.
In-N-Out.
“My favorite food,” Lee said with the help of a translator. “I walk over there to the counter and said ‘Double-Double.’ Every time they do a great job in making me a Double-Double.”
Not Animal Style, no cheese, just regular style.
On the flip side, Lee was asked if there was something in Korea that he wished San Francisco had. Lee said San Francisco and Korea have many of the same things. One missing amenity he’d add to San Francisco is public saunas.

While Lee may not be able to enjoy a public sauna in the streets of San Francisco anytime soon, he at least can enjoy an In-N-Out Double-Double as there is one conveniently located in San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf neighborhood.
The Giants signed the 2022 KBO league MVP to a six-year, $113 million contract in December of 2023. Lee is reportedly able to opt out of the contract after four years into the deal.
Lee’s rookie season was cut short in 2024 after only playing 37 games. He suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in May after trying to catch a flyball.
