(KRON) — Authorities in Sonoma served a search warrant Tuesday in connection to threats of school violence, according to the Sonoma Police Department.
A child under the age of 18 is involved in the investigation, authorities said. The search warrant was served around 3:30 p.m. on the 300 block of West Spain Street by Sonoma police and the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, including detectives from the sheriff’s Violent Crimes Investigations Unit and the Crime Scene Investigations Unit.
“The search warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation from a recently received online threat of school violence provided to the Sonoma Police Department,” authorities said.
Further details on the threat or the suspect were not immediately available.
Sonoma police said they were “confident” that the community and the schools “are no longer at risk of this threat.”
