(KRON) — Two suspects allegedly connected to a nationwide retail theft organization were arrested Tuesday in Vallejo, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. The arrests come after authorities served search warrants at two residences in the city.
Inside one home, the sheriff’s office said detectives located several credit cards and gift cards linked to identity theft. Additionally, stolen merchandise that came from Bay Area stores was uncovered.
The second home had “dozens of boxes of stolen merchandise from local Bay Area stores,” authorities said. Detectives also seized evidence related to identity theft.

The suspects, identified as Robert Iancu and Mariana Mititescu, were arrested for identity theft-related charges, conspiracy and violation of probation. Bail was set at $25,000.
“Both subjects are part of a larger network of criminal organizations that travel the United States committing retail theft,” the sheriff’s office said.
