(KRON) – Golden State Valkyries center Temi Fágbénlé is stepping away from the team, and competing in the FIBA EuroBasket 2025, the team announced Sunday.
EuroBasket 2025 is from June 18 to 22. The group play games will be held in the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, and Greece. Fágbénlé will compete with the Great Britain National Team. Fágbénlé and Great Britain began competing on Thursday in Hamburg, Germany, for Group D.
According to the Valkyries, Fágbénlé plans to return the team once the tournament is finished.

The Valkyries will certainly miss her presence on the floor. Fágbénlé averages 10.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while shooting 54.3 percent. The team selected her as the fifth overall pick in the 2025 Expansion Draft.
Fágbénlé is in her fifth season with the WNBA. She played for the Minnesota Lynx for three seasons and the Indiana Fever for a year.
The team is currently fifth in the Western Conference (5-5).
