Driver of stolen car crashes into vehicle, killing 1 in East Bay: sheriff’s office

(KRON) – A passenger of a car was killed after a driver of a stolen Infiniti crashed into the car, according to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

At 12:41 a.m. on Sunday, Pittsburg Police Department officers responded to two vehicles involved in a crash.

According to the sheriff’s office, the California Highway Patrol officers noticed a stolen gray Infiniti sedan speeding more than 100 miles per hour on Highway 4 near east of Bailey Road, according to deputies.

CHP officers pursued the Infiniti and caught up at the freeway at Railroad Avenue in Pittsburg. Despite officers attempting to pull over the car, the driver did not stop. Deputies said the pursuit lasted slightly over a minute due to the Infiniti crashing into an uninvolved vehicle.
