(KRON) — The Oakland Police Department (OPD) said a three-week ceasefire investigation led to multiple arrests and the recovery of a gun that investigators believe was used in a shooting.
Oakland police said officers responded to a shooting on Feb. 22 at 11:30 a.m. in the 800 block of 287th Street. No arrests were made but police were able to identify a suspected vehicle and link several individuals possibly tied to the incident.
On March 13, OPD Ceasefire officers were assisted by the U.S. Marshals in serving search warrants at homes in Oakland, Sacramento, and San Francisco and arresting all three suspects.
Police said they located a firearm “matching the one used in the shooting,” as well as an assault rifle and another gun.
It is not clear what charges the suspects face. Oakland police partnered with the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office in its investigation.
In a post on Facebook, OPD wrote “This investigation showcases the collaborative efforts of law enforcement to address violent crime and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.”
