(KRON) — One person was injured after a three-vehicle crash in San Leandro Sunday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP). The crash happened around 5 p.m. on northbound I-880 north of Marina Boulevard.
The vehicle at fault, CHP says, had two occupants, but none were injured. The second vehicle involved in the crash also had two occupants with no reported injuries. The third vehicle in the crash had five occupants, and one of them was taken to the hospital.
According to CHP, that person experienced pain in the neck, head and ankle. Drugs and/or alcohol were not factors in the crash. The San Leandro Police Department initially chased down the vehicle at fault but stopped when the driver drove the wrong way. The driver was eventually arrested by SLPD.
Two northbound lanes were temporarily closed but have since reopened. CHP posted pictures of the crash (see below).

A day earlier, CHP reported a wrong-way crash in the East Bay. Two people were killed Saturday after a wrong-way driver caused a head-on collision in Concord, authorities said. CHP said it is suspected that driving under the influence was a factor in the crash.
