(KRON) — On the same day that Oakland police were searching for a missing kidnapped woman, police rescued another woman in Oakland who was held captive for days.
On Wednesday, a woman called 911 and told dispatchers that she was being held against her will by an armed assailant inside a vehicle. Police officers found the vehicle on International Boulevard.
“When officers arrived, they located the victim and the armed suspect. A firearm was also discovered inside the vehicle,” the Oakland Police Department wrote.
The victim, who had been held captive for multiple days, was rescued by officers, the police department said. OPD did not release the suspected kidnapper’s name.
In a separate case, a woman who was beaten and kidnapped remains unidentified and missing. The brazen attack, which occurred in broad daylight Tuesday, was captured on video.
According to OPD, the woman was walking on 98th Avenue when a man tried to hit her with a car. The man got out of the car and punched the woman several times. The woman yelled out that she was being kidnapped as the man dragged her into the car. Police later found the car abandoned in East Oakland and discovered that it was stolen.
