SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A garbage truck struck a tree in San Francisco’s Lower Nob Hill neighborhood Thursday morning, causing a large branch to fall and block lanes, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.
The Recology truck collided with the tree at 7:23 a.m. on Leavenworth Street near Sutter Street, officials said. A branch fell onto the truck and three lanes of the roadway.

Crews are responding to the scene to clear the street.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area, use alternative routes and expect delays. There is no estimated time to reopen the lanes.
