(KRON) — A Richmond man who police say intended to exploit a minor for commercial sex trafficking was arrested last week, according to the San Jose Police Department. The SJPD Human Trafficking Task Force (HTTF) launched an investigation last November after a man initiated communication with who be thought was an underage female for prostitution.
The suspect, according to police, engaged in online and phone communication to arrange commercial sex activities with the victim. SJPD identified the suspect as 22-year-old Kendrick Robinson of Richmond.
Detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Last Thursday, Robinson traveled from Richmond to San Jose “with the intent of exploiting the juvenile victim for commercial sex trafficking,” according to SJPD. Detectives, with the assistance of SJPD Special Operations M.E.R.G.E. Unit personnel arrested Robinson. He was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for commercial sex trafficking.
