(KRON) – A San Francisco man with five warrants was found with stolen merchandise at a Colma mall, according to the Colma Police Department.
Colma police officers made contact with a man in the back of the Metro Mall Shopping Center around 7:10 p.m. on Sunday. Police said the man, later identified as San Francisco resident Robert Sims, gave police his name and date of birth, and then walked away. Officers discovered Sims had four misdemeanor warrants and one felony warrant for his arrest.
Colma PD said officers saw Sims walking in the Colma parking lot 30 minutes later and ordered him to stop due to his warrants. Sims, according to police, did not stop walking and a short pursuit ensued.

Sims was later detained. Police found merchandise with the security sensors in a plastic bag on Sims. According to Colma PD’s investigation, Sims stole $1,451.43 worth of merchandise from a store in the Serramonte Mall in Daly City.
Sims, 40, was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for obstructing/resisting arrest and his felony and misdemeanor warrants. Colma PD said Sim’s grand theft charge has been referred to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
