Santa Margarita, Troy and Sage Hill seeded first for CIF SoCal girls soccer regional

Santa Margarita, Troy and Sage Hill — three of the seven Orange County girls soccer teams playing in this week’s CIF Southern California Regional — are seeded first in their respective divisions.

The regional runs Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday with the higher seeded schools serving as hosts.

Santa Margarita (17-1-3), which won the CIF-SS Open Division, is seeded first in Division I as it seeks a record third consecutive title. The Eagles play host to Bonita Vista — the Open Division runner-up in San Diego — on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Mater Dei (14-6-4), the CIF-SS Division 1 champion, received the No. 7 seed in Division I and plays at Corona Santiago at 5 p.m..

Troy (15-3-2), the CIF-SS Division 1 runner-up, is the top seed in Division II. The Warriors play host to Torrey Pines at 3 p.m.

Orange Lutheran (11-5-1), a semifinalist in CIF-SS Division 1, is seeded second in Division II and plays host to Cleveland — the Open runner-up in the L.A. City Section — at 5:30 p.m.

Sage Hill (13-3), which captured CIF-SS Division 4, is the No. 1 seed in Division IV for the regional. The Lightning play host to San Diego — the Division III champion in San Diego — at 3 p.m.

The county’s other entries are Foothill (Division III) and Whittier Christian (Division V).
