(BCN) — Firefighters rescued two dogs and quickly brought a kitchen fire in a Santa Rosa home under control Sunday morning, firefighters said.
No injuries have been reported so far in the blaze, which caused an estimated $75,000 worth of damage, according to a press release.
Firefighters responded to 4027 Shadowhill Drive less than six minutes after receiving a 911 report of a fire and found a two-story, single-family home with smoke visible from the front and second story around 8:14 a.m.
Crews found a kitchen fire with smoke throughout the home and rescued two dogs, which were safely relocated to neighbors.
The firefighters brought the blaze under control in about 20 minutes, remaining at the home to conduct overhaul and ensure it was completely extinguished.
It was determined that the occupants were away when the fire started, firefighters said.
An alert neighbor noticed black smoke coming from the eaves of the home and called 911. The early notification enabled firefighters to make a quick stop, limiting further damage.
