(KRON) — The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said the sale of an illegal firearm led deputies to uncover a firearm, two rifles, a shotgun, and a “significant amount of ammunition” during a search warrant at a suspect’s house.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation began on Feb. 17 when a gun was seized from a woman prohibited from owning one. Deputies’ work led them to 40-year-old Liam Brayton, and a search warrant was executed Thursday at his home on the 18000 block of Ole Monte Rio Road in Guerneville, where they made the discovery.
Brayton was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for selling a firearm without a license. His bail was set at $25,000, which he later posted.
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post, “The safety of our community in Sonoma County is not just a top priority but a commitment that we, the Sheriff’s Office, take seriously.”
