(KRON) — Dubbed as “The Nation’s Girl Group,” the Philippines’ BINI recently announced it will be going on its first world tour, which includes a stop in the Bay Area. The Filipino girl group sensation will headline a show in San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on June 17.
BINI’s fanbase, known as “Blooms,” can see the eight-member group — Jhoanna, Aiah, Colet, Gwen, Maloi, Stacey, Mikha, and Sheena — at one of 14 shows across three different continents. Most of the shows will be in North America.
Last summer, BINI made history as the first Filipino act to perform at KCON in Los Angeles — the largest K-pop music festival in the world. According to label ABS-CBN, last week, BINI became the first Filipino group to sell out the Philippine Arena.
The 55,000-capacity Philippine Arena is the largest indoor arena in the world.
Tickets for the San Francisco and other North American shows go on sale as early as March 3 at 10 a.m. local time when BINI exclusive members can access the presale. A link to purchase tickets will be available at a later date.
Since debuting in 2020, BINI has gained millions of fans, including many outside of the Philippines. The group has more than 3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, 2.3 million Instagram followers and 6.8 million TikTok followers.
The group’s name is derived from the Filipino word “binibini,” which means “young lady.” BINI’s most-watched music video on YouTube is “Pantropiko” with more than 100 million views. Its “BINIverse” extended play is set to be released on Feb. 27.
