(KRON) — Three people were arrested in connection with three restaurant burglaries in Palo Alto this winter, the Palo Alto Police Department announced Monday. All of the suspects worked as subcontractors for a cleaning company that serviced the victimized businesses.
The three suspects are all San Francisco residents, and PAPD is investigating whether they are connected to other burglaries in Palo Alto and other cities.
The three restaurants burglarized were Local Union 271 (271 University Ave.), Nola (535 Ramona St.), and Ettan (518 Bryant St.). The suspects made off with about $16,000 in cash combined from the three restaurants.
In all three cases, the burglaries happened overnight, and the restaurants reported that the suspects got in through a rear door and took safes containing cash.
The suspects were identified as Marcos David Umana Romero, 29, Jose Roberto Rodriguez, 31, and Armando Aguilar Sevillas, 27. Police are investigating whether there are other suspects involved.
The suspects were arrested in San Francisco on Feb. 6 on suspicion of conspiracy and commercial burglary.
