(KRON) — Highway 92 in San Mateo County is closed as of noon Friday after a crash sent one vehicle 20 feet off an embankment, according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision occurred west of Canada Road, near the Crystal Springs Reservoir.
The incident is being called a “major injury” multi-vehicle collision. The number of people involved and the extent of injuries is not known. Cal Fire crews are responding.
A severe traffic alert was issued just before noon.
Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes to avoid the area and expect delays. There is no estimated time to reopen the roadway.
