(KRON) — Two victims of the deadly storm that slammed the San Francisco Bay Area with heavy rain and high winds were identified by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Coroner on Friday.
John Radecke, 61, of Calistoga, was found deceased Wednesday inside a Santa Rosa culvert on the 7700 block of Franz Valley Road, officials said. Sheriff’s deputies and the Sonoma County Fire District had been dispatched to the area around 4:41 p.m. on the report of a body found.
On Thursday, fire crews in Santa Rosa were dispatched to the 5800 block of Hall Road around 5:45 a.m. where Frank Robinson, 81, of Sebastopol, was last seen before being reported missing Wednesday. The California National Guard assisted in the search and Robinson’s body was recovered from the flooded roadway a little over an hour later, according to officials.
Firefighters called it a “storm-related tragedy.”
Sonoma County’s Russian River rose to 36.53 feet at its peak on Wednesday, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, 4 feet over its flood stage of 32 feet.
