(KRON) — Federal agents seized pounds of fentanyl and methamphetamine while executing search warrants in the North Bay on Thursday, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities said two major narcotic distributors were arrested in the operation.
The joint operation between the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the sheriff’s Narcotics Unit identified two suspects, Marco Hernandez, of Rohnert Park, and Robert James Strzelecki, of Santa Rosa. The agencies executed search warrants Thursday at their North Bay residences in connection to the suspected sale and distribution of narcotics.
DEA special agents and sheriff’s detectives located 11 pounds of M30 fentanyl pills and 3.5 pounds of methamphetamine in the search, authorities said.
Hernandez and Strzelecki were arrested on state and federal charges related to narcotic distribution and booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility.
“Our two agencies are dedicated to working together to protect Sonoma County by removing fentanyl and other illicit drugs from our community,” the sheriff’s office said.
