FINAL ORANGE COUNTY GIRLS WATER POLO TOP 10

(Records through Sunday, Feb. 2)

1. Mater Dei (21-3): The Monarchs didn’t claim the Trinity League title but won 3 of 4 matches against Orange Lutheran to secure the No. 1 ranking for the regular season. Mater Dei plays host to Corona del Mar on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in a Group A match in the Open Division playoffs.

2. Orange Lutheran (21-3): The Trinity League champion plays host to Foothill at Santiago Canyon College on Thursday at 5 p.m. in a Group B match in the Open Division.

3. Newport Harbor (21-5): The Sunset League champion faces Long Beach Wilson at Corona del Mar High on Thursday at 6 p.m. in a Group B match in the Open Division.

4. Laguna Beach (16-11): The Pacific Coast League champion is a contender to watch in Division 1. The Breakers play host to league foe Rosary in the first round Thursday at El Toro High at 5 p.m.

5. Foothill (14-11): The Knights received the No. 7 seed in the Open Division and play two-time defending champion Orange Lutheran on Thursday.

6. Corona del Mar (19-7): The reigning Division 1 champion returns to the Open Division playoffs and plays top-seeded Mater Dei for the first time this season.

7. JSerra (16-6): The Lions open the Division 1 playoffs by playing host to Agoura on Thursday. JSerra beat Agoura 16-5 earlier this season.

8. San Clemente (19-8): The Tritons, co-champion of the South Coat League, take on Sunny Hills in the first round of the Division 1 playoffs Thursday at Capistrano Valley High at 6:30 p.m.

9. Beckman (20-6): The South Coast League co-champion carries a six-match winning streak into its Division 1 first-round clash against Huntington Beach on Thursday.

10. Los Alamitos (9-18): The Griffins would have been in the Division 1 playoffs if not for several forfeits late in the season.
