(KRON) — A small airplane ran off the runway at Palo Alto Airport, according to the City of Palo Alto. The plane drifted into the Baylands Nature Preserve marshlands near the airport.
The Palo Alto Fire Department is on the scene addressing a fuel leak. No injuries have been reported, officials said. A Baylands closure is in effect and people are being advised to avoid the area.
The incident comes one day after a medical transport jet crashed in Northeast Philadelphia with a child patient and five others on board. All six people aboard that plane were killed, according to officials.
