SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The San Francisco Fire Department (SFFD) said a fire engine crew quickly responded to a small garbage truck blaze in the city’s Central Richmond neighborhood on Thursday morning.
San Francisco Fire said its dispatch center received the call at 8:02 a.m. and firefighters arrived in the area of 17th Avenue and Clement Street within five minutes.
The fire was extinguished by 8:11 a.m., SFFD confirmed to KRON. SFFD said officials from Recology San Francisco were at the scene to dump the load and clear the area.
Video above from Citizen captured smoke emerging from the back of the truck as drivers passed by.
There were no injuries reported. Investigators said the cause of the fire is not yet determined.
San Francisco fire said there are no reports of odors in the area due to the garbage truck fire.
