(KRON) — Authorities seized more than 2,000 cannabis plants from three illegal growhouses in Fairfield on Jan. 9, the Fairfield Police Department said Friday.
Warrants were served by the Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) and FPD. The growhouses were at Gillick Lane, Milton Smith Lane and Clyde Jean Place.
The DCC seized a total of 2,001 plants between the three houses.



Fairfield has had problems with illegal growhouses. Eleven have been shut down in the city in the past six months, police said.
“Illegal operations like these pose significant health and safety risks to anyone inside or near them, to include neighboring homes and residents, as well as responding public safety personnel,” FPD said.
