School: Fountain Valley

Year: Senior
Noteworthy: He was the only Orange County wrestler to win the championship of his weight class in the Five Counties tournament at Fountain Valley High. The meet featured many of the top wrestlers and teams in California. McDonnell finished first at 215 pounds, winning in the championship round 13-3 over Wes Buford of Oakdale. Fountain Valley finished fourth in the meet’s team standings.
