A group of dirt bike riders have joined a pursuit involving two initial suspects in Los Angeles County Thursday night.
The suspects were reportedly wanted for a traffic violation as patrol units followed them closely.
The two riders were seen traveling at high speeds as the chase began shortly before 4 p.m. The bikers were seen weaving through freeway traffic and narrowly missing other drivers. At least one of the suspects reportedly struck an officer with their bike.
At times, the suspects were seen chatting with each other and texting on their smartphones while speeding away. Neither of them appears to be wearing any helmets or protective gear.
A group of at least six other riders on dirt bikes later joined the two suspects on the chase. They all stopped at a gas station to refuel before taking off again. Several were seen performing stunts and wheelies on the road.
