SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — One person was taken to the hospital after a multi-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon in the Sunset District, the San Francisco Fire Department announced on X. That person was taken to a trauma center and is in “serious condition.”
The crash happened at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Santiago Street.
Two other adults were taken to the hospital and are currently in stable condition, according to SFFD. The adult in serious condition was helped out of the vehicle by firefighters who used a Jaws of Life tool.
As of 4:30 p.m., three lanes are blocked on Sunset Boulevard. There is no estimated timeline for when the lanes will reopen, and authorities are telling the public to avoid the area.

The 29 Muni bus between Sunset and Santiago is being rerouted, the SFMTA posted on X. The inbound 29 bus will reroute via 35th Avenue between Santiago and Ulloa.
