A fast-moving wildfire burning in Coachella is threatening structures and has prompted officials to issue evacuations Wednesday morning.
The Tyler Fire was reported just before 3:30 a.m. on the 47100 block of Tyler Street, CalFire Riverside posted on X.
The blaze started as a quarter-acre spot fire but has spread to six acres with no containment.
“Firefighters are on scene of a six-acre vegetation fire with structures threatened. Riverside County Sheriff are evacuating affected residents,” the post read.
Firefighters are battling not only the fire but strong winds that are blowing through the area.
