LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – Police are working to identify the young bicyclists and the driver of a Mercedes-Benz who were involved in a case of road rage over the weekend.
A video posted on social media shows the Mercedes driver swerving erratically through a group of several dozen cyclists who had taken over Olympic Boulevard in Los Angeles’ Mid-Wilshire neighborhood on Saturday.
There were several near misses as the cyclists darted out of the way of the agitated driver.

A local resident told KTLA’s Kimberly Cheng that street takeovers and conflicts involving bicyclists are getting more common in the area.
“They’ll literally take over the intersection. Sometimes they’ll do circles, donuts …They just take over and create a dangerous environment for drivers on the road,” said Chris Cunningham. “I’ve seen drivers get angry at them. Swerve around them. Come close to hitting them.”
A short time after the first video was recorded, the cyclists apparently caught up with the vehicle in a parking garage. A second video shows the young men jumping on the Mercedes, smashing its windows and chasing away a man believed to be the driver.
It is unclear if anyone was hurt.
In September of last year, a group of around 50 juveniles on bicycles ransacked a 7-Eleven in the Beverly Hills area, a short distance from the site of Saturday’s road rage incident. Police said some of the teens’ parents eventually turned them in.
