A 38-year-old man died after a shooting Thursday, Jan. 2, in Santa Ana.
Officers responded around 7:41 p.m. to a report of a shooting in the east alley of 1400 S. Standard Ave., south of McFadden Avenue and west of Grand Avenue, where they found an unresponsive man who had been shot multiple times, the Santa Ana Police Department said in a statement.
The Orange County Fire Authority responded and pronounced the man, who was identified as Gerson Ramirez of Santa Ana, dead at the scene.
Police were investigating the shooting and the motive surrounding it; and working to find additional witnesses.
