El Dorado’s Zack LaMonda and Beckman’s Marcello Giuliano have been selected as the coaches for the upcoming Orange County All-Star Classic football game.
The game, sponsored by non-profit Costa Mesa United and the L.A. Chargers, is tentatively scheduled for Feb. 1 at Orange Coast College at 7 p.m., organizer Ron Amburgey said.
Guiliano is coming off his best season with Beckman. He guided the Patriots (10-2) to a share of the Lambda League title and a trip to the CIF-SS Division 8 quarterfinals.
LaMonda was The Register’s O.C. coach of the year in 2023 after leading the Golden Hawks to a CIF-SS runner-up finish in Division 7. It was the school’s first appearance in a section final since 2007.
El Dorado finished 3-7 this past season.
Seniors selected for the all-star game were nominated by their coaches. Complete rosters are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
