A string of high-profile burglaries at the homes of NFL players that has even prompted a warning from the FBI has led one of the brightest stars of Los Angeles to take a proactive approach to the issue.
According to a report from TMZ, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford recently invited law enforcement officials and NFL security to his L.A.-area home to perform an inspection. The outlet says the intent was to inspect the home for weak points that would be of interest to potential burglars.
The three-time Pro Bowl QB and Super Bowl champion wasn’t at the home at the time of the inspection, TMZ says, but he also received tips on how to keep his home safe.

Tips included installing a security alarm system that covered the entire house rather than just the first floor, and making sure no ladders are left outside the home.
Stafford’s concerns over his home appear to be warranted. A recent string of high-profile burglaries have hit the homes of Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals and Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs has put the league on high alert.
Reports have indicated that the burglaries may be connected to a South American crime ring. The TMZ Stafford report says that the NFL asked law enforcement officials about that ring during the home inspection.
