(KRON) – A convicted felon has been charged for selling meth and controlled substances in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced Friday.
Jose Ramos, 36, was arrested by the San Francisco Police Department on Wednesday on Leavenworth Street. In searching Ramos, police said they found 30.9 grams of fentanyl, 26.8 grams of methamphetamine, 23.7 grams of cocaine and nine grams of suspected heroin.
According to Jenkins’ office, a week prior Ramos allegedly sold 1.9 grams of cocaine base for $6 to an undercover officer at Hyde and Ellis Street. On Dec. 13, the district attorney’s office said Ramos “allegedly sold 3 grams of cocaine base for $50 to an undercover officer and allegedly told the officer he “worked” from 9:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m.”
The criminal complaint, according to Jenkins’ office, also alleges that Ramos was carrying a substance containing more than one ounce of more than one ounce of fentanyl.
Ramos was charged with multiple charges, including:
- two counts of transportation
- sale and giving away of controlled substances
- three counts of possession for sale of controlled substances
- one count of possession for sale of methamphetamine
Ramos was in violation of a stay-away order as a condition of his probation, according to the DA’s office.
Ramos is scheduled to be arraigned on Dec. 20. He will remain detained due to the DA’s office considered him a flight risk.
Jenkins’ office said this is the first filed case with a weight enhancement since the implementation of Prop 36 on Wednesday.
“The Prop 36 weight enhancement is an important new tool that my office will use in the fight against drug dealers that have torn apart our neighborhoods,” said Jenkins.
