(KRON) — The Hayward Police Department (HPD) said it is investigating an assault of a student on the campus of Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School.
Hayward PD said it occurred on Dec. 11 around 5:30 p.m. Authorities did not elaborate on any specifics of the assault.
Hayward PD confirmed the victim is a 15-year-old girl who attends a different school. Officials did not release what school the teenager attends.
Police said in a statement to KRON4 that the victim “did not have any physical injuries, minor only.” It is not yet known what led to the incident.
Police said officers arrested 38-year-old Julius Malone. Malone was taken to Hayward Police Department Jail where he was booked for misdemeanor assault. Police told KRON4 Malone was later released with a notice to appear in court.
