The Weeknd celebrates a billion Spotify streams with exclusive L.A. show

The Weeknd is celebrating having the most songs reach one billion streams on Spotify with an exclusive concert for select fans in Los Angeles.

He’s kicking off Spotify’s first-ever Billions Club Live, which is being described as “an unprecedented concert event.”

The Toronto native will honor the historic feat with a show on Dec. 17 in L.A. held exclusively for his top fans on the music streaming platform. He’s set to perform “a setlist comprised of his songs in the Billions Club, taking fans through his many musical transformations unlike anything he’s done before,” a press release explained.

Billions Club Live is an extension of Spotify’s Billions Club, which celebrates artists hitting one billion streams on the site.

The special event comes a little over a month before The Weeknd is set to hit the stage of the Rose Bowl for his “one night only” show. The performance is in honor of his sixth studio “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” which will be released on Jan. 24, 2025. His performance at the Pasadena venue will take place on Jan. 25, 2025.
