The Franklin fire in Malibu Canyon continues to grow rapidly, crossing Pacific Coast Highway and spreading to more than 2,200 acres by Tuesday morning, Dec. 10, burning in the hillsides near Pepperdine University.
Some homes and structures are threatened, but the extent of the damage is not yet known. Pepperdine University was reporting power outages and activated a shelter-in-place protocol for students and staff.
