A man was shot and killed while sitting in a car in a south Anaheim neighborhood Sunday night, Dec. 8, and police were working to find out who did it.
Officers were called to the 2000 block of South Margie Lane just before 8:45 p.m. and found the man in his 20s with at least one gunshot wound in a sedan, Anaheim police Sgt. Matt Sutter said.
Homicide detectives had yet to find any witnesses, Sutter said.
Video from OnScene TV, a freelance news network that sometimes works with the Southern California News Group, shows police investigating near a dark-colored sedan parallel parked along the street with several yellow evidence markers on the ground outside the driver’s side and rear of the car.
Sutter said police were not yet sure whether the car belonged to the man.
Whether he was a gang member was not known yet, but Sutter said the neighborhood where he was shot is not considered by police to be a gang neighborhood and is usually quiet.
It sits between Katella and Orangewood avenues, just west of the Anaheim Convention Center.
The victim was not identified by police pending notification of his relatives.
