SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Jury deliberation in the murder trial of accused Bob Lee killer Nima Momeni is to resume Monday morning. Momeni is accused of stabbing Lee to death under the Bay Bridge in the early morning hours of April 4, 2023.
Prosecutors argue that Momeni killed Lee as an act of revenge after a drug dealer associated with the Cash App founder assaulted his sister, Khazar Momeni. Momeni, according to prosecutors, also suspected that Lee had an “inappropriate” relationship with his sister, who is married.
Momeni’s defense argues that Momeni stabbed Lee in an act of self-defense after the 43-year-old tech mogul became enraged over a “bad joke,” produced a knife, and attempted to stab Momeni. In the defense’s telling, Momeni, who is trained in martial arts, turned the knife back on Lee, resulting in him being fatally stabbed.
The jury began deliberating Wednesday afternoon and continued through Thursday. The jury adjourned for the weekend without arriving at a verdict. Deliberation is expected to resume at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
