Ariana Grande is celebrating her first Golden Globe nomination.
The “7 Rings” singer received the nod for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture for her role as Glinda in “Wicked.”
Grande posted a pair of messages on her Instagram Stories to express her gratitude as well as excitement.
“Oh my goodness, oh my goodness,” she wrote. “I am floored and honored to be recognized by members of the Golden Globes. Crying (of course). It’s impossible to find my words, but I am simply so deeply grateful for this acknowledgment.”
Grande then extended her congratulations to her “Wicked” costar Cynthia Erivo who received the Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture.
“Congratulations to my brilliant, dear sister Cynthia Erivo and all of our Ozian family on this celebration of our work. I can’t possibly express my gratitude,” she added.
A couple of hours later, Grande posted another message to the platform saying that she was “still recovering” from the exciting news.
“Thank you again for this acknowledgment Golden Globes… I love Glinda so much. I have learned so much from her and to be nominated in such company of so many brilliant women that I admire so, means so much,” she continued.
She then thanked “Wicked” director Jon Chu, Donna Langley, the chairwoman of Universal Studios and the chief content officer of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group as well as Universal for their “trust, support and belief” in her.
“I’m still floating… so thankful to share this moment with you and to be on the other side of the rainbow now, celebrating the work of this remarkable cast, my dear, brilliant sister Cynthia Erivo, and all of our Ozian family.”
The movie also received a nomination for Best Musical or Comedy Picture.
“Congratulations and I love you,” she ended her note saying.
The 82nd annual Golden Globes air live on Jan. 5, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.
