A driver was taken into custody after they used the southbound lanes of the 110 Freeway to drive north early Saturday morning.
According to preliminary information, CHP officers were alerted to a wrong-way driver on the 110 near the interchange with the 105 Freeway in South Los Angeles around 12:40 a.m.
Video taken from inside a vehicle traveling the right way down the freeway shows the pickup truck maneuvering down the fast lane near the center divider as a CHP squad car pursued from the other side of the freeway and a law enforcement helicopter tracked the chase from above.

Eventually, CHP deployed spike strips to slow the male driver down as they tried to use the express lanes to escape, initial reports indicate.
He was taken into custody after their vehicle was spiked. No details surrounding their identity or charges they are possibly facing were released.
