Ventura police are investigating after a 24-year-old man was stabbed to death during a large fight in downtown Ventura Thursday morning.
Officers from the Ventura Police Department responded to the 300 block of East Main Street around 1:50 a.m. for reports of a violent fight that drew a large crowd.
By the time officers arrived on scene, the crowd had already dispersed and the victim was found on the ground suffering from at least one stab wound.
Paramedics administered aid, but the man died at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
The case is being investigated by the Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit, which is asking for anyone who witnessed the altercation to come forward. Several “uncooperative” witnesses at the scene have already been contacted and declined to provide any information.
