(KRON) – A suspect is at large and the other was arrested after a vehicle pursuit in Oakland, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
At 1:19 a.m. on Friday, CHP officers attempted to stop a Honda Odyssey for not having taillamps. The minivan was traveling eastbound on Interstate 580 near Harrison Street. CHP said the minivan “initially yielded but then fled, prompting officers to initiate a pursuit.”
CHP’s Air Operations Unit assisted in locating the Odyssey. A loaded Glock handgun was discarded from the passenger side of the vehicle, according to CHP. The occupants of the vehicle fled out of the minivan near Seminary Avenue and Monadnock Way.

The passenger was arrested and booked into the Santa Rita Jail on charges of resisting arrest and multiple firearms violations.
The driver is “currently outstanding,” according to CHP.
CHP recovered the discarded firearm. The gun had a sticker of a monkey on the base (image above).
