SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A San Francisco bar was named by national publication Punch among one of the best new bars in the United States for 2024. Stoa, located at 701 Haight St., was named to an exclusive five-establishment list by Punch — the only California/West Coast bar on the list.
Stoa opened back in the fall of 2023 and has garnered national recognition since.
The Haight Street bar was recognized as one of the “Best New US Cocktail Bars” by Tales of the Cocktail, according to an Instagram post. It was also honored and included in the Imbibe 75 list. Both publications have large followings with more than 200,000 Instagram followers each.
“At a time when maximalism reigns supreme in the cocktail world, Stoa is quietly but confidently leading the minimalist charge,” Punch wrote. “The menu is largely a roster of greatest hits from Kehagiaras’ previous programs, featuring fan favorites like the Castaway, a tropical aperitif. But it is also an evolution of his pursuit of minimalism—what ties the two together is a stylistic imperative that less is always more.”
