Police have arrested a man who they say intentionally showed young children on the Santa Monica pier nude photographs of himself.
Benjamin Bush, 46, was arrested late October following an “intensive investigation by detectives,” according to a news release from the Santa Monica Police Department.
Bush is a resident of Rosamond in Kern County and works at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi.
On the evening of Sept. 18, Bush allegedly displayed a nude photograph of himself to three 9-year-old children outside of Pacific Park on the Santa Monica pier. He was also seen showing the same image to another child inside the nearby arcade.
Santa Monica police began investigating the incident and were able to identify Bush as the alleged suspect weeks later.
He’s since been arrested and faces charges for child annoyance and distributing harmful material to a minor.
Bush has no prior criminal record, police said, and jail records indicate he was cited and released and given a January court date.
