It’s nearly the middle of November, which means the holiday season is about to be in full swing.
Shoppers in one of the most popular spots in Los Angeles will soon be able to celebrate the holidays alongside a 100-foot tall Christmas tree. The Grove’s tree arrived to the outdoor shopping destination on Tuesday, where a massive operation took place to install it.
Erica Tuttle, The Grove’s property manager, told KTLA’s Annie Rose Ramos that the tree, a white pine, is 80 years old and comes from Mt. Shasta, more than 10 hours away. Meanwhile, massive cranes were preparing to lift the tree up and into its new resting spot.
“We’re ready to get it going,” she said.

The tree arrived on Tuesday morning after a lengthy drive from deep into Northern California. The driver who transported the tree said the freeways were the easy part of the drive, and the narrow L.A. streets were tough to navigate.
After getting the tree settled, it’ll take about one week to put up all of the lights and finish decorating The Grove for the holidays, Tuttle said.
The tree-lighting ceremony is scheduled to go on at 7 p.m. Nov. 25, just a few days before Thanksgiving.
